As we ascended the narrow staircase to the upper floor, located at the corner of Walking Street and Soi Diamond, the anticipation of a new experience filled the air. However, the moment the sliding door opened, we were greeted by an overwhelming stench of stale smoke and alcohol—an unmistakable sign that the venue hadn't been aired out in quite some time.
Upon entering, we were met with a counter situated directly next to the entrance, with the bar area opening up to a spacious, yet underwhelming stage. The stage was beautifully designed, surrounded by a plush sofa platform, but the setup didn't live up to our expectations. Initially guided by our usual agogo routine—enter, survey the scene, and find a place to sit—we were taken aback by the lack of atmosphere. The stage was bare, and the sofas were vacant. The only guests were us, and the absence of performers was glaring.
Despite the place being full of worn-out furniture and an unpleasant odor, we decided to make the best of it. Our group was quickly surrounded by 6-8 women, though calling them "girls" would be a stretch. The Halloween costumes didn’t help their appearance. My colleague, @softy, and I were taken aback by the aggressive attention. In a bid to buy some time, I threw 500 baht in 20-baht bills onto the stage, but instead of calming the situation, it only fueled the frenzy.
Desperate to restore some normalcy, @softy ordered tequilas for the ladies, but the delivery was delayed. Amidst the chaos, an unattractive woman clung to me, making the experience even more uncomfortable. The tequilas arrived, albeit in mismatched glasses, adding to the bizarre ambiance. As we struggled to manage the situation, it became clear that this establishment was an anomaly in the Pattaya nightlife scene.
Eventually, we managed to pay and escape, though the exact duration of our stay was a blur. Despite the unpleasant experience, @Riva’s comment about investing in the place made us laugh. While the venue might not have lived up to expectations, it certainly provided a unique and memorable experience, one that will be hard to forget.
