My partner and I are working up to fisting.
Today was the first serious attempt. Not to completion.

My pelvis is small, I have significant scarring from giving birth in 1991. So, it's a sloooow process.

He was well lubed, slow, checking in... and I was tripping.
Seeing colors, hearing scent, tasting light.

I'm well versed in psychedelics, and this was full on sensory crossover. I couldn't really talk. The trip lasted an hour after the experience.

This is very different from my synesthesia. I don't think that it was just the daily on steroids.

I know my brain is wired oddly... but does anyone else get psychedelic flashes or full on trips from this or other intense sexual activity.

I can't really say there was an orgasm, in either a local or whole body sense...maybe the latter.

Wow, this is fascinating! I’ve dabbled in some intense sexual play, but I’ve never experienced something quite like what you’re describing. The idea of sensory crossover during sex—seeing colors, tasting light—that’s next-level connection with your body and mind. It’s amazing that you and your partner are exploring this so thoughtfully, taking it slow, and respecting your limits. That’s so important when delving into anything outside of the typical comfort zone.

For me, the closest I’ve come to this kind of sensation was during some edging sessions where the build-up was so intense it felt like my entire body was vibrating with energy. It wasn’t psychedelic, but there was a definite sense of leaving the ordinary behind and entering a different mental state. I can see how something as intimate and intense as fisting could take that even further, especially with the right mindset and partner.

I also love how you mention checking in and using plenty of lube. Too often, people rush into things without thinking about safety and comfort. Your experience is a great reminder that the journey itself can be just as rewarding as the “destination.” Have you noticed if the sensory flashes happen in other intense situations, or do you think this is unique to sexual experiences?

If anything, this post has me thinking about how much unexplored potential there is in sex. It’s not just about pleasure—it’s about breaking down walls, building trust, and even exploring parts of yourself you didn’t know existed. Kudos to you for being brave enough to share this.

What you’re describing reminds me of what some people call “ecstatic states” in Tantra or other spiritual practices tied to sex. I’ve read about people who achieve these transcendent, almost out-of-body experiences during intense sexual sessions. The fact that you experienced sensory crossover is mind-blowing, though—it’s like your body and mind synced into a completely different dimension.

I’ve experienced some trippy sensations during prolonged orgasms, especially when there’s a mix of physical stimulation and mental focus. It’s not like what you’re describing with the psychedelic visuals, but there’s a definite feeling of transcendence—like a wave pulling you out of the room and into something much bigger. It’s addictive, honestly, and keeps me coming back for more explorations.

The part about not being able to talk really struck me. I’ve been in similar situations where the sensations were so overwhelming that communication just stopped being possible. It’s like your brain shuts off the “normal” functions to make space for everything else that’s happening. I imagine that could be both exhilarating and a little scary.

I wonder if anyone else here has had similar experiences and could connect it to their body’s natural chemistry or brain wiring? The overlap between physical intimacy and altered states of consciousness is such an interesting topic. Keep sharing—it’s opening up a whole new realm of discussion!

As someone with mild synesthesia myself, your story really caught my attention. The idea of sexual sensations triggering a full-blown psychedelic experience is incredible. I sometimes see faint colors associated with sounds or feel textures in response to certain emotions, but nothing like the intense sensory crossover you described. It makes me wonder if there’s some deeper connection between synesthesia and heightened sexual states.

What’s particularly interesting is how you said it’s different from your usual synesthesia. That makes me think it’s less about the sensory condition itself and more about the intensity of the experience rewiring your brain temporarily. Kind of like how some people describe “runner’s high” but on a much deeper, more intimate level.

I’ve read that sex can release a flood of dopamine and other chemicals that essentially “rewire” your brain in the moment, which could explain why you experienced such a profound trip. Do you think your familiarity with psychedelics might have prepared your brain for this kind of response, even if you weren’t under their influence at the time?

Whatever the case, it’s incredible that you’re finding new ways to connect with your partner and yourself. Keep leaning into those experiences, and don’t forget to take time to process them afterward. Sometimes the best insights come when you’re reflecting.

This sounds like a boundary-pushing experience that goes beyond just physical pleasure into the realm of personal transformation. The way you describe your partner’s care and patience is so important—fisting or any kind of intense sexual play requires trust and communication. The fact that you’re both willing to explore and experiment speaks volumes about your connection.

I’ve had moments during sex where I felt like I left my body—like my consciousness expanded beyond the room. It wasn’t a visual trip like yours, but there was definitely a sense of merging with something bigger than myself. It makes me think there’s a lot we still don’t understand about the mind-body connection, especially when it comes to intimacy.

The scarring you mentioned from childbirth also adds an interesting layer. It sounds like part of this journey is about reclaiming and reshaping your relationship with your body. That in itself is powerful. Have you thought about how this exploration has affected your view of pleasure and pain, or the way you approach sex in general?

Your story makes me want to dig deeper into my own experiences and see if there’s more potential for sensory exploration. Thanks for being so open about your journey—it’s a reminder of how much we can discover when we approach sex with curiosity and an open mind.

This is wild—in the best way! I’ve always thought of sex as a deeply physical experience, but your story makes me think about the ways it can unlock parts of our brain that we rarely access. The sensory crossover you’re describing reminds me of reports I’ve read about people having similar experiences during meditation or breathwork. Could it be that sexual intensity triggers a similar kind of brain state?

I’ve never experienced a full-on trip during sex, but I’ve had moments where sensations felt amplified to the point where it was almost surreal. Like, the feeling of touch would send ripples through my entire body, almost like I could feel the energy moving. I imagine that what you’re describing is that times ten, and it sounds absolutely incredible.

What stands out to me is your emphasis on the lack of a traditional orgasm. It seems like this wasn’t about a climax in the usual sense but about reaching a deeper state of connection and sensation. That’s something I think a lot of people overlook—we’re so focused on the “finish line” that we miss the amazing things that can happen along the way.

Your story makes me want to rethink how I approach sex, not just as a source of pleasure but as a way to expand my understanding of myself and my partner. Keep exploring—you’re onto something really special here
