It sounds like you've had a challenging experience. It's tough when you invest emotionally and things don't turn out as expected. Here are some reflections and tips based on what you've shared:
Lessons Learned:
  1. Stick to Short-Term (ST) Arrangements:
    • Why: Keeping relationships short-term can help manage expectations and reduce emotional investment.
    • How: Be clear about your boundaries from the start. Stick to agreements and avoid extending relationships beyond what you initially intended.
  2. Avoid Falling in Love:
    • Why: Emotional involvement can complicate things, especially if the other party may not share your feelings or intentions.
    • How: Focus on enjoying the present moment without letting emotions take control. Keeping relationships casual can help maintain clarity.
  3. Be Aware of Deception:
    • Why: In some situations, people may not be entirely truthful about their intentions or past.
    • How: Pay attention to red flags and inconsistencies in what people say. Trust but verify, and be cautious about taking things at face value.
  4. Verify Information:
    • Why: Doing some research can provide insights into a person's background and help you make informed decisions.
    • How: Use social media and other resources to check for consistency in their stories and actions. A bit of due diligence can reveal important information.
  5. Do Your Homework:
    • Why: Understanding the context and background can help you avoid potential pitfalls.
    • How: Research the local scene and people's reputation. Knowledge about common practices and behaviors can help you navigate interactions more effectively.
Moving Forward:
  1. Reflect on Your Experience:
    • Take time to assess what went wrong and what you can learn from the situation. Reflecting can help you make better decisions in the future.
  2. Set Clear Boundaries:
    • Establish clear boundaries and stick to them. Communicate your expectations upfront to avoid misunderstandings.
  3. Focus on Personal Growth:
    • Use the experience as an opportunity for personal growth. Understand what you want from relationships and how to achieve it while protecting yourself emotionally.
  4. Seek Advice:
    • Engage with others who have similar experiences. They may offer valuable insights and support based on their own journeys.
  5. Move On:
    • It's important to let go and move forward. Dwelling on past mistakes can be counterproductive. Instead, focus on applying what you've learned to future interactions.
Remember, experiences like these can be tough but also provide valuable lessons. It’s all part of learning and growing. If you ever need to talk or have more questions, feel free to reach out.

You're absolutely right. Sometimes, the true picture of someone's situation can emerge through their friends' posts or interactions. Here are a few things to consider when dealing with discrepancies or dishonesty:

1. **Be Observant**: Pay attention to not just what someone posts but also what their close circle shares. This can provide additional context and help you understand the situation better.

2. **Communicate Openly**: If you suspect inconsistencies or have concerns, address them directly and calmly. Honest conversations can often clear up misunderstandings and provide clarity.

3. **Seek Consistency**: Look for consistency in behavior and statements. Repeated inconsistencies or lies can be red flags and may indicate deeper issues.

4. **Trust Your Instincts**: If something doesn’t feel right or seems off, trust your instincts. It’s important to feel secure and confident in any relationship.

5. **Set Boundaries**: If dishonesty continues despite your efforts to address it, it may be necessary to reconsider the relationship and set boundaries to protect yourself.

Honesty and transparency are foundational to healthy relationships. If lies and deception are prominent, it can undermine trust and lead to complications.

It sounds like you had strong feelings and genuine intentions for this person, and it's deeply disappointing when things don’t turn out as hoped, especially when you were ready to offer so much.

When dealing with such situations, here are a few things to consider:

1. **Reflect on Your Experience**: Take time to process your feelings and understand what led to this outcome. Reflecting on the experience can provide insights and help you heal.

2. **Recognize Your Value**: Acknowledge that your willingness to offer a meaningful and supportive relationship is a strength. Your ability to provide such a positive and fulfilling life is valuable.

3. **Learn and Grow**: Use this experience as a learning opportunity. It can help you recognize red flags earlier and refine your understanding of what you want and need in a relationship.

4. **Focus on the Future**: While it’s natural to feel disappointed, focusing on your own future and what you want can help you move forward. There will be other opportunities and relationships that may align better with your values and desires.

5. **Maintain Self-Respect**: Continue to respect yourself and your own worth. Don’t let this experience diminish your belief in your capacity to offer love and support.

It’s tough when a relationship doesn’t work out, especially when you had so much to give. Give yourself time to heal, and stay open to the possibilities that the future holds.

It's understandable to feel disillusioned if you've had negative experiences. People’s behaviors can vary widely, and trust issues can be frustrating, especially when you've invested time and resources into a relationship.

Here are a few points to consider:

1. **Varied Experiences**: Not everyone will have the same experience, and there are many individuals, regardless of background, who are trustworthy and genuine. Generalizing can sometimes overlook the positive aspects and individual differences.

2. **Self-Reflection**: Reflecting on past experiences can help you identify patterns and understand what might have contributed to the issues. This can be valuable in making better decisions in the future.

3. **Setting Boundaries**: Clear boundaries and open communication are crucial in any relationship. They can help prevent misunderstandings and build a stronger foundation of trust.

4. **Building Trust**: Trust is built over time through consistent and honest behavior. It’s important to assess trustworthiness gradually and ensure that actions match words.

5. **Understanding Individual Differences**: People from different backgrounds may have different perspectives and values. Understanding and respecting these differences can help in forming better connections.

It’s important to approach relationships with an open mind while also protecting yourself. If you have specific concerns or need advice on navigating relationships, feel free to ask.

One of the risks of mongering is you sometimes do fall for the girl and by the way the girls sometimes will fall for you big time. Looking back over what is now 20 years of mongering I can honestly say there have been 2 girls that I found very hard to move on from. It is a risk we take like picking up a STD.

Just remember unless the girl returns to live with her family what ever she will tell you when money is tight she will go back to the bar. For the girls the big hurdle is going to work the first time in the bar and going with your first customer once you have done this the damage is done to your reputation.
