Question about Gentleman clubs

Hi All-
I could use some help and clarity on gentlemens clubs from the group.

First, some background. I'm a mind 40s American who has travelled and worked in Asia for 15+ years and I also lived in Asia for 6 years. I've experienced a wide array of P4P options across China, Japan, SE Asia, etc., but surprisingly I will be doing my first visit to Pattaya in a few weeks (for work).
I've gotten to the point that taking a girl for sex is really not of interest to me. No judgement at all, but I've gotten less interested in the "act" and more into playfulness and intimacy - even if it is fake, lol.
For example, I enjoy the hostess clubs in LA on occasion because of the thrill of the hunt, discrete grinding and touching, etc. and end up spending more money than if I just picked up a cheap escort, but I enjoy the chase as much or as more as getting off.
I'm a huge sensual massage fan and I will definitely be getting a few while I'm there. I'm looking for an actual good massage, ideally done with her naked, and a hand job or two included, but not necessarily looking for sex or oral. So, if anyone has any suggestions for good places, that would be great.
My primary question though is around GC's. I will likely check out some A Go Go's but I'm unlikely to bar fine anyone. Its more for the experience and the visuals.
I've been doing some reading on GC's and I'm only semi clear on what to expect and if its the right place for me. What I'm looking for is a lower key place to hang out and have a drink or to with a playful, good looking woman with me. I don't need sex, but would like the touching, exploring, making out, etc if that's possible - and for a reasonable amount of money.
Can you please clarify another what I should expect in a GC? Are there typically dancers? Nude or clothed? I assume having a girl sit with me will end up with her being playful, but what/how much should I expect? Is this the expectation with simply buying lady drinks, or shoudl I expect more costs?
Also, obviously their game is to get me to ST them, but are they going to be ok with my just hanging out and playing without bar fining them, or is it giong to be a non stop sales pitch? Should I expect to tip on top of the lady drinks?
Sorry for all the newbie questions, but this is a new locale for me. I'm happy to try and help for data in other parts of Asia if there are questions.

I don't have too many specific suggestions for you because there are just too many variables, namely the girls, their personalities, the time of day, their sobriety level and their mood.

Massage shops can be hit or miss. Some of the girls want to get down and dirty and some seem to want to give you a real massage before the fucking. There was a girl in Jomtien who gave me a great massage before the fucking and then a great head massage afterwards. I regret not getting a repeat from her.

For this you'll want to err on the naughty side and look for a good massage rather than err on the massage side and look for a happy ending or at least I think I'd be happier with a so-so massage that had a definite finale rather than a great massage that didn't. Then again you seem to be more about the handjob and that seems like something a lot of the normal massage girls would be willing to do so you'll just have to try out different places and different girls.

GCs don't usually have dancers. It's a laid back bar atmosphere with rooms upstairs or in booths or both. You only pay for your drinks, her drinks, blowjob and full service. I suggest doing some math to figure out adequate compensation. Figure out how much full service is (about 1000) and how much a blowjob is (about 800), figure out how much she makes off drinks and make sure she gets something worthy of her time. You can even just tip her directly at the end to make sure she is taken care of since you are going off menu.

I hung out for an hour or 2 with my buddy in a GC on Bong Koch 8 and the girl next to me did ask me a couple times if I wanted something extra but I didn't at the time. She seemed to be fine with me just buying her a drink now and again (maybe 1 every 15ish minutes) while she played with my guy under the table. There weren't any other customers in the bar so it's not like she was losing money by sitting with me. If there were then you gotta know they want the best buck for their time so she might have wandered off in search of a better deal or maybe she wanted a slow night or whatever, you gotta read the situation a bit. I did finally cave and went full service behind the curtain though so she won that battle.

One of the things I didn't like about the GCs though is that some seem to be taken over by groups of regulars. So you'll walk in a bar and see all but a couple of the girls hanging out on the laps of a group of guys who all seem like they are having a fucking blast. The problem is that if you aren't with that group of guys where do you fit in? The trick is to hit them right when they open so you control the scene initially and you get pick of the litter. Or maybe if you are more extroverted you just make friends with the guys and it's not a big deal.

You can get a lot of what you are describing in the gogos too though, especially the hole in the wall ones where they tend to be a little more dirty to keep the customers inside the bar or the notorious ones like Windmill, Kink, Dollhouse. If you see fully nude girls playing around with pool noodles on a rubber mat on stage then those places tend to be more open about extras in the club. I haven't had too many problems with getting a girl to sit on my lap facing me with the first drink in most gogos.

I sort of wonder if the clubs might be more your thing though. The music can be loud and the people just everywhere but that kind of atmosphere would be more in the "hunting" category I think.
