Located at the corner of Soi Buakhao and Soi LK Metro, Sugar, Sugar Agogo is the new venture from the former owners of Club Blu, who have brought along some familiar faces from their previous establishment, as seen in my photos from March. I visited the bar just before midnight last night to check out the new setup.

The concept has shifted from a "Coyote Bar" to a traditional agogo, and unfortunately, photography is no longer permitted. The interior boasts a stylish, gold-themed décor, with both service girls and showgirls dressed in gold outfits. The showgirls frequently change costumes, but some of the entertainment, such as the plastic props used for bottom-slapping, felt somewhat unoriginal and uninspiring.

On the night of my visit, there were at least two girls per guest, with a mix of very attractive performers and some who didn’t quite fit the stage.

Tiger beer is priced at 80 baht, and the bar fine for showgirls is 500 baht. I was particularly impressed by one service girl, but she only agreed to a 1000 baht bar fine after 1 a.m., which seemed a bit unusual. Overall, while the new Sugar, Sugar Agogo offers a fresh look, the change in concept and some quirks in policy might take a bit of getting used to.

I went there 2 weeks ago and it was a non-smoking place. So it wasn't interesting for me (yet)!

In addition, people immediately started begging for drinks without having done anything.

Otherwise, the atmosphere and music were very good.

It could become something...

I have to say that I have rarely seen such a good A Go Go. Very nice waitresses, lots of pretty girls on the go. And quite a few of them could dance well and - unlike some of the staff in other Go Go shops - didn't just hold on to the (dance) pole and occasionally lift up a toe. I didn't ask about the prices, but I went in a few times. Quality varied from visit to visit. But I count it among my top A Go Go's. Good air conditioning (not too cold, very pleasant), good music and mostly good dance routines from the pretty attractive girls.

Negative point: some of the ladies don't wear license plates or they are too small and poorly placed to read. The lighting of the ladies' faces is poor, their bodies are in the foreground. For me, however, the face is more important when making a selection.

Do you mean me?
If so: of course I drank something there. Bacardi Breezer. But I can't remember the price. It was somewhere between 120 and 195 THB per bottle. I don't smoke, so it's not a relevant point of observation for me. Unless the place turns into a smokehouse. But I didn't notice. As I said, pleasantly air-conditioned and ventilated.

I didn't buy any "extra-expensive" lady drinks, as I was always there with female company.

well, I went to sugar sugar a few times in November and December, the place is OK, there are a few cuties dancing there...but the ladies aren't really up for going, one of them had a young DL with him and had to explain everything to her, plus the mamasan wanted the money beforehand...

well, we're not on the phillies yet...

carlos says it's OK as an appetizer, but not really for the ladies to take away
