Holidays in Pattaya: Exploring the Nightlife - aiden15632 - 07-20-2024

Hello, my dear Pattaya friends,
I have a question regarding the nightlife in Pattaya during the upcoming holidays on July 20th and 21st. As I understand it, there is a ban on alcohol sales on these days due to religious observances. I'm curious to know if the clubs and bars remain open despite the alcohol ban, or if they close entirely during this period.
In past experiences, I've noticed that Pattaya's nightlife is generally vibrant and bustling, with a wide array of bars, clubs, and entertainment venues catering to different tastes and preferences. However, the situation changes during specific holidays when alcohol bans are enforced. These bans are typically in place to honor Buddhist holidays and other significant religious events, during which the sale of alcohol is prohibited as a sign of respect.
I am particularly interested in understanding how this impacts the overall nightlife experience in Pattaya. Are the clubs and bars still open, but with adjustments to their offerings, such as serving non-alcoholic beverages and focusing more on entertainment and music? Or do most venues choose to close their doors entirely during these days?
Furthermore, I would love to hear from anyone who has firsthand experience with this situation in Pattaya, especially on these specific holidays. Did you find that certain areas or types of establishments were more likely to remain open than others? For example, did you notice that some larger, more tourist-focused venues might have found ways to continue operating, perhaps by shifting their focus away from alcohol sales? Or did the alcohol ban lead to a quieter and more subdued nightlife atmosphere overall?
I'm trying to plan my activities for these days and would greatly appreciate any insights or advice you can provide. If you have any recommendations on alternative activities to enjoy during the alcohol ban, such as cultural events, sightseeing, or other forms of entertainment that might be available, please do share. I'm open to exploring different aspects of Pattaya that I might not typically consider, especially if the usual nightlife options are limited.

Hey,

normally all bars, clubs, A-GoGo etc. are closed on these days. Some open on the last day at midnight when the new day begins...but very, very sparsely.
You will find restaurants open, but they don't serve alcohol.

If you don't want to go without alcohol on these days, you have no choice but to stock up your fridge in your room BEFOREHAND. If you have someone with you, they can tell you where you can buy something in small Thai shops on these days if necessary.

There are always a few Thais sitting in front of a shop - usually on a side street.
Be friendly, buy a round and a
moped driver will be called who will bring you more supplies...
